Muay Thai Kick Boxer Toughens Up Sports And Leisure Destination Facility In Phuket, Thailand

Muay Thai Boxer Fortifies Sports and Leisure Destination Complex in Thailand

The contest to become Asia’s top international sports destination just became more difficult as Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) has chosen former Muay Thai champion “Thanootong’’ Prasert Intanoo to head the martial arts program at the extensive Phuket, Thailand sports centre.   Just as muay thai boxing demands perseverance and skill, the appointment is another anecdote of the PIASLC bringing in leading professionals to work at the emerging first-class facility and help position it as the first choice sports and leisure destination in Asia.

The Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) complex has programmes suitable for everyone including Olympic class athletes, residents, visitors and school kids.   Swimming, track, rugby, football (soccer), strength training, tennis and much more are offered now or coming soon at what is emerging as a benchmark as a regional destination for sports, arts and wellness in Thailand and Asia, and perhaps the world.

The PIASLCis organized into specialized sports academies.  The new assignmentof Prasert Intanoo will bring the Martial Arts Academy to international attention.   The PIA Aquatics Academy and the Football Academy are already positioned as premier programmes. BSS uses Futebol de Salao (FDS).  The training and game is characterized as a 5-a-side version of soccer originally from South America.  FDS is played with a smaller (size 2), and a little heavier (465gm) ball that has very little bounce to it.   Now Muay Thai joins the top-rated youth soccer training programme available at the preeminent sports and recreation complex in Southeast Asia.

Former Thailand national flyweight champion Khun Prasert was a Muay Thai professional boxer for 15 years with an notable 70 wins to his name.  He graduated from university with a degree in physical education.  He later worked for Marriot as a Muay Thai trainer, and in his position as Recreation Supervisor directed wellness, corporate teambuilding and kid’s zone activities. Khun “Nok” (his Thai nickname) is also a certified Pilates teacher and personal trainer and certified by the Thai Yoga Institute as an instructor.

The PIASLC is a component of the Phuket International Academy (PIA).  PIA  is a pioneering sports, education, arts and wellness complex sited in Phuket, Thailand.   PIA comprises three synergistic centres: the PIA Day School, the PIA Sports and Leisure Club, and the PIA Mind Centre.  They offer students, parents and those from the wider Phuket, as well as international communities, a state of the art, sustainable facility with focus on education, sports, arts and wellness.  Located on the resort island of Phuket, Thailand, PIA is found in an environment of natural beauty near a national park.]  The view of Phuket International Academy is to realize the intellectual, physical, creative and spiritual potential of all students, members and participants of the three centres.

The Phuket International Academy Day School (PIADS) is aspiring to become a three programme International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The PIA Day School has excellent facilities, teachers, trainers, staff and administration.
